sticky vs non-sticky — explain like i'm daft

Keep seeing people on here talk about sticky and non-sticky bonuses like it's obvious. It is not obvious. Someone explain it like I'm thick, please.

Non-sticky (the good kind): your real money plays first. Win with your own cash before touching the bonus, you can withdraw and bin the bonus off. Sticky: your deposit and bonus are glued together from the first spin, so you're into the wagering straight away.

Even simpler: non-sticky gives you an escape hatch, sticky doesn't. If you can't tell which one it is from the terms, assume the worst.
